Stay Safe Mask, 2020

During the first lockdown in the autumn of 2020, when there was a continental shortage of medically-approved masks, the Italian government encouraged any capable company to apply their existing production into production of masks as a social contribution. OLDER managed to produce more than 200.000 masks by changing and reorganizing its production within the first weeks of the 1st lockdown. Due to this, OLDER was selected as a case study example by the OECD (Organisation For Economic Co-operation and Development) of how innovative SMEs (small/medium-sized enterprises) could prevail in a crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic through the use of progressive thinking and design.
