Papi, 2019

The Papi table is an exploration on an idea of a infinite shape. Made as a single piece in Pietrasanta, Tuscany, the base is an open construction of thin red iron curves and lines under an enormous Plexiglas top. The table is at once modest and candid in its expression, although it also has a sense of humour, as hinted in its name, after the popular Spanish term of endearment. But the Papi table also embraces the history of ’80s postmodernism and sets the scene for the dining occasion, and continues architecturally where the uniforms end.
